The third HR-V generation has been on the market since 2022 and is available in Europe only as an e:HEV full hybrid, the same drivetrain as the Civic e:HEV but tuned for the smaller HR-V. The 1.5 petrol four-cylinder works mostly as a generator that feeds the battery and the electric motor; only at higher speed does the petrol engine couple mechanically to the wheels. In practice
WLTP is 5.4 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). In mixed traffic owners report a year average of around 6.0 l/100km (owner forums, n approx 16, not measured by us); the difference between WLTP and practice is usually smaller on this type of hybrid than on a plug-in. The boot measures 319 l, modest for a SUV in this class because the battery takes up space. The "Magic Seats" rear bench folds up vertically for tall cargo. Points to note
