About the Opel Frontera (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The new Frontera is a subcompact crossover SUV on the Stellantis Smart Car platform, shared with the Citroën C3 Aircross and other Stellantis B-SUV cousins. Production began in 2024 at Trnava in Slovakia. The model line covers two powertrains. The Hybrid 100 uses a 1.2 three-cylinder turbo with 100 hp (74 kW) combined with a 21 kW electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch gearbox; Opel quotes around 5.5 l/100km WLTP combined (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). A more powerful Hybrid 136 is also offered. The Frontera Electric uses a 44.2 kWh battery with an 83 kW (113 hp) motor and DC charging up to 100 kW.
In practice
Owner real-world data for this model year is still thin; the older 1.2 PureTech engines typically ran 0.5 to 1 l/100km above WLTP on Stellantis B-segment cars (public forums, not measured by us, different generation and without 48 V). The body is 4.39 m long with a 2.67 m wheelbase, and a seven-seat variant is part of the line-up. Trim is simplified to Frontera and Frontera GS.
Points to note
The Hybrid 100 figure shown here is the indicative entry trim; if you need more usable power on the motorway look at the Hybrid 136. The Frontera Electric is the same body with a different powertrain and a higher list price. The indicative hybrid starting price stands at 23,900 euro, the electric starts around 28,990 euro, both starting prices, not offers and not forecasts. Towing weight is zero (manufacturer figure for the entry variant; verify on the configurator if towing matters).
