Who they are

A short write-up on each car, one paragraph apiece. We describe them on their own terms rather than picking a winner.

Profile · III ECO-G 100 (Typ DM, 2024-)

Dacia Duster

Compact SUV on the CMF-B platform, third generation. The ECO-G 100 is a factory bi-fuel version: a 1.0 turbo that runs on both LPG and petrol and switches itself. WLTP consumption petrol around 6.0 l/100km (manufacturer figure, indicative), LPG is higher per 100 km at about 7.8 l/100km, the per-litre price of LPG is lower. With two tanks the combined range exceeds 1,000 km according to the manufacturer figure, depending on version and driving style (not measured by us). Boot 472 l is generous for the B-SUV segment.
