About the Toyota Aygo X (2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The Aygo X is an A-segment hatchback with crossover styling on a 1.0 three-cylinder petrol engine of about 72 hp. No hybrid, no turbo. It is a city car: four seats, no towing weight, a 231-litre boot. The high seating position and the short size make it agile in the city.

In practice

WLTP is about 4.9 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). In the city the fuel use stays low; on the motorway the small engine has to work hard and it rises, with modest acceleration when overtaking. The noise level at higher speeds is a recurring point in owner reviews. The indicative list price rose from about 18,495 euro (reference date early 2024) to 19,995 euro now, a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

Four seats, not five, and a small boot; this is not a family car. No towing capacity. On long motorway drives the engine is noisy and the acceleration tight, weigh this up if you drive a lot outside the city.
