In depth

WLTP 5.4 l/100km; owners report higher motorway figures because the petrol engine kicks in more often there (public forums, not measured by us). Boot 455 l, braked towing weight 1,500 kg (manufacturer figure).

About the Nissan Qashqai e-Power (2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The Qashqai e-Power works differently from a classic hybrid: the 1.5 petrol engine is only a generator that charges the battery, the wheels are always driven electrically. That gives an EV-like driving feel without a plug. The 2024 facelift brought a new nose and a software update. Boot 455 l, braked towing weight 1,500 kg (manufacturer figure).

In practice

WLTP is 5.4 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). In the city the e-Power principle works favourably; on the motorway the petrol engine runs along more often and owners report mixed around 6.3 l/100km (owner forums, n≈20, not measured by us). The difference between city and motorway is larger with this drive concept than with a regular hybrid. The list price rose indicatively from about 40,990 euro (reference date early 2024) to 42,990 euro now; this is a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

At constantly high speed the consumption disappoints because the e-Power system is then less efficient than a direct drive (recurring owner point). The engine noise under full acceleration deviates from the engine speed, which some drivers experience as unnatural. Take a test drive with motorway included at the official dealer.
