About the Mazda2 1.5 Skyactiv-G (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The Mazda2 on the DJ platform has been in production since 2014 and was facelifted again in 2023. It is Mazda's own B-segment hatchback, not to be confused with the Mazda2 Hybrid that runs on the Toyota Yaris and is sold in selected markets only. The 1.5 Skyactiv-G four-cylinder delivers 90 hp with a 24V mild-hybrid system; WLTP consumption is 5.0 l/100km (manufacturer figure).
In practice
Owners report 5.5 to 6.0 l/100km mixed (public forums, n approx 15, not measured by us). The braked towing weight is 900 kg, enough for a small trailer. The boot of 280 litres is on the tight side for the segment. The list price rose indicatively from about 21,290 euro (reference date early 2024) to 22,390 euro now; a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.
Points to note
The DJ platform is mature, which is usually favourable for failure- proneness, but the cabin and infotainment are older than on newer rivals. Rear seat space is on the small side. The interior trim feels closer to mainstream than premium, expected at this price point. Check the available trims at the official Mazda configurator; the supply per market varies.
