About the GWM Ora 03 (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The Ora 03 is Great Wall Motors' compact electric hatchback, launched in EU markets as the Ora Funky Cat in October 2022 and renamed to Ora 03 in November 2023 as part of a wider GWM brand rationalisation. The styling references mid 20th century European hatchbacks and was widely noted in EU media at launch. The top GT variant uses a 63.1 kWh NMC battery, 171 hp on the front axle and WLTP range around 420 km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). Lower variants use a smaller 47.8 kWh LFP pack with a shorter WLTP range.
In practice
WLTP consumption is around 17 kWh/100km on the GT (manufacturer figure). Owner reports in EU markets show real world consumption of 17 to 20 kWh/100km in mixed use, with motorway and winter driving pushing higher (small sample, not measured by us). The boot is modest at 228 l with the rear seats up, a recurring point in EU reviews relative to the external footprint. Braked towing weight is not homologated by GWM for the Ora 03 in EU markets; check the official spec sheet for confirmation.
Points to note
The Ora 03 uses GWM's own infotainment with twin 10.25 inch screens. DC charging at around 67 kW is modest by current standards, particularly for the larger 63 kWh pack which charges from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 45 minutes (manufacturer figure). The GWM service network in EU markets is still being built up; check the nearest service point at the official dealer. The brand has been on the EU market too short for an extensive ADAC failure statistic, and the residual value curve is not yet stable.
