About the BYD Atto 3 (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The Atto 3 is the first BYD model that came to the EU market in significant volumes (2022). It sits on the e-Platform 3.0 with the LFP Blade battery pack (lithium iron phosphate) integrated into the floor, BYD's own design and patent. Capacity is around 60.5 kWh usable, WLTP range about 420 km, power 204 hp on the front axle (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). DC charging is to around 88 kW, modest by current standards. The boot takes 440 l, braked towing weight is 750 kg.
In practice
Owner forums report real-world consumption around 17 to 19 kWh/100km in mixed use, somewhat higher in winter and on the motorway (not measured by us, varying sample). The LFP chemistry has different properties from NMC: charging to 100 percent is permitted more often, but cold-weather performance and DC charging speed below 0 degrees Celsius are lower without preconditioning. The indicative list price stands at 37,990 euro for the Comfort entry version, a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.
Points to note
The infotainment uses a rotating central screen, opinions in owner reports vary, especially the menu structure for vehicle settings. Software updates came more slowly in earlier model years than at established brands; the BYD service network in EU markets is still being built up, check the nearest service point at the official dealer. The model has been on the market too short for an extensive ADAC failure statistic.
