The A3 Sportback shares the MQB platform and much technology with the Volkswagen Golf, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia. The 2024 facelift renewed the front, the lighting and the infotainment software. The 35 TFSI uses a petrol four-cylinder with 48V mild hybrid, about 150 hp via an S tronic automatic.

In practice

WLTP figure is about 5.8 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). In mixed use owners report 6.5-7.5 l/100km (owner forums, not measured by us); short city trips are higher. The 1,500 kg braked towing weight is average for the class. The indicative list price rose from about 34,900 euro (reference date early 2024) to 36,900 euro now; this is a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

The technical kinship with the Golf is large; the price difference is mainly in finish and brand position, not in the drivetrain. The S tronic automatic sometimes shifts jerkily at low speed according to owners (owner reports, not tested by us).
