Fast charging at a public charger (10→80%)

Fast charging on the road (DC = the rapid charger you find at motorway stops, not home charging): indicative time from 10 to 80 percent, calculated from the specs — not measured by us. Actual time varies with charger, temperature and battery level at the start. The 10→80% window is the standard benchmark because the final stretch (80→100%) deliberately charges slower to protect the battery.
Charging situation10→80% (minutes)
At the car's own maximum charging rate (175 kW) ~ 30
At a 150 kW charger ~ 35
At a 50 kW charger ~ 104
How is this calculated? We assume around 70% of the battery sits in the 10→80% window and an average power around 62% of peak (the curve tapers towards the end). At a fixed charger the power is capped to that charger. An estimate, not a manufacturer figure.

Charging at home uses AC power and is slower: a home wallbox typically delivers 7.4 to 11 kW. That is separate from the fast-charge times shown above.

Frequently asked

What does the Skoda Elroq cost roughly?

Indicative starting price € 33,900 (reference date 2026-05-20). Not an offer.

What is the WLTP range of the Skoda Elroq?

560 km WLTP (manufacturer figure). Owners typically report less in everyday driving, especially in cold weather. See the reviews below.

How long does fast-charging the Skoda Elroq take (10→80%)?

Roughly 30 minutes on a 175 kW charger (10→80%, factory calculation, indicative). Actual time depends on battery temperature and the charging curve — the car's charging speed drops as the battery fills.

How big is the battery in the Skoda Elroq?

77 kWh usable capacity (manufacturer figure). Check the warranty terms of the specific car for capacity retention.

What does the Skoda Elroq use in real-world driving?

The factory WLTP figure is 15.5 kWh/100 km. Owners typically report more in mixed use, with the usual winter penalty. See the owner experiences below.

How much boot space does the Skoda Elroq have?

470 litres (manufacturer figure). See the spec sheet for the full dimensions.

In depth

The Elroq 85 with 77 kWh net offers around 560 km WLTP (manufacturer figure, indicative); entry-level Elroq 50 starts lower. DC charging up to 175 kW for the 77 kWh variants, 470-litre boot. Shares the platform with VW ID.3 and Cupra Born but is the only SUV body in this price band.

About the Skoda Elroq (2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The Elroq is the first compact electric SUV from Skoda, on the same MEB platform as the VW ID.3, Cupra Born and the larger Skoda Enyaq. Three battery sizes at launch: Elroq 50 (52 kWh, 125 kW DC), Elroq 60 (58 kWh net, 125 kW DC) and Elroq 85 (77 kWh net, 175 kW DC). The Elroq vRS with dual-motor AWD arrived later in 2025.

In practice

The Elroq 85 quotes around 560 km WLTP from its 77 kWh net pack (manufacturer figure, not measured by us); the smaller 60 quotes around 420 km. DC charging peaks at 175 kW for the 77 kWh variant; 10-80% takes around 28 minutes under favourable conditions (manufacturer figure). The boot is 470 litres, expanding to about 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded, which is generous for the segment. Braked towing capacity is up to 1,200 kg depending on variant. The indicative German starting price for the Elroq 50 was 33,900 euro at launch and remains a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

The Elroq launched in early 2025, so long-term reliability data on the MEB platform applied to this body has yet to accumulate. Software is shared with the wider VW Group MEB family; check the most recent over-the-air update level on a test drive. The configurator splits optional kit across packs; verify what is standard at the trim level you want at the official dealer.
