About the Mercedes-Benz E-Class E300e (W214, 2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The W214 is the sixth E-Class generation, introduced for 2023. The E300e combines a petrol four-cylinder with an integrated electric motor for about 312 hp system power. The 19.5 kWh net battery is large for the class and produces a WLTP electric range of about 113 km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). The interior leans heavily on the MBUX Superscreen and the Hyperscreen as an option.

In practice

The WLTP combined consumption figure of 0.7 l/100km assumes a regularly charged battery; without charging owners report 8 to 9 l/100km (public forums, not measured by us). DC charging is available at up to 55 kW, AC peaks at 11 kW. The braked towing weight of 2,100 kg is generous for a PHEV sedan. The indicative list price rose from about 74,900 euro (reference date early 2024) to 78,500 euro now; this is a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

PHEV economy depends on charging discipline; without daily plug-ins the consumption approaches that of a comparable petrol sedan. The boot of 370 litres is small for the class because of the battery. The MBUX Hyperscreen places nearly all functions on glass; whether that works pleasantly is a matter of taste, check it on a test drive at the official dealer.
