About the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W206, 2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The W206 switched fully to four-cylinder drivetrains with a 48V mild-hybrid; the six-cylinder petrol from the previous generation was dropped. Rear-wheel drive is the basis, a 9-speed automatic is standard. The interior leans heavily on the upright central screen and the digital instruments.
In practice
The WLTP figure is about 6.2 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). In mixed use owners report 7-7.5 l/100km (owner forums, not measured by us); short city trips are higher. The braked towing weight of 1,800 kg is generous for the class. The indicative list price rose from about 53,900 euro (reference date early 2024) to 56,500 euro now; this is a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.
Points to note
The controls move many functions to the central screen; whether that works pleasantly is a matter of taste, check it on a test drive at the official dealer. The 48V mild-hybrid supports the petrol engine but does not drive independently on electricity; expect no plug-in consumption. With predominantly city use the real-world consumption comes out higher than the WLTP figure.
