About the BMW X3 xDrive30e (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The G45 is the fourth X3 generation, introduced for 2024. The xDrive30e combines a petrol four-cylinder with an integrated electric motor; together about 299 hp. The 19.7 kWh net battery is substantially larger than in the previous generation, which raises the WLTP electric range to about 90 km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us).
In practice
The WLTP combined consumption figure of 1.0 l/100km assumes a regularly charged battery; without charging owners report 8 to 9 l/100km (public forums, not measured by us). DC charging is not available, AC peaks at 11 kW. The braked towing weight of 2,000 kg is generous for a PHEV SUV. The indicative list price rose from about 70,500 euro (reference date early 2024) to 73,900 euro now; this is a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.
Points to note
PHEV economy depends on charging discipline; without daily plug-ins the consumption approaches that of a comparable petrol SUV. The boot loses about 90 litres to the battery compared with the regular X3. The new iDrive generation moves nearly all functions to the central screen; whether that works pleasantly is a matter of taste, check it on a test drive at the official dealer.
