Frequently asked
Is the Volvo V60 still sold as a new car?
No. This model has not been sold as a new car for years (last model year 2018). We sell nothing and do not refer you to a dealer. This page shows the technical specs as a reference.
How much can the Volvo V60 tow?
1800 kg braked (with trailer brakes) — the figure that applies when your trailer (such as a caravan) has its own brakes. Manufacturer figure; the exact, binding limit for a specific car is on its registration document.
How much boot space does the Volvo V60 have?
430 litres (manufacturer figure). See the spec sheet for the full dimensions.

What owners report elsewhere about the V60
This is a summary of public forums about a model that is no longer in production, not verified by us and not a first-party review. Recurring points: real-world diesel consumption around 5-6 l/100km (user-reported), comfortable seats and long-distance qualities are consistently praised. Most-mentioned concerns: DPF clogging with frequent short trips and EGR valve problems at higher mileage. The braked towing weight of 1,800 kg is described as ample for caravan use. This summary is a historical spec reference, not buying advice. See the sources for the original, complete posts.

Owner experiences
Comfortable long-distance diesel, be careful with short trips · 4/5
Anonymous owner · 2026-02-03 · owner experience
I drove this V60 D4 for a long time as a business mileage-cruncher. On the motorway, fuel consumption was around 5.2 l/100km, with comfortable seats you could sit in for hours without complaints. It pulled a caravan within the 1,800 kg range without any trouble. The weak point showed itself when I spent a period driving mainly short trips: the DPF had a hard time and a regeneration warning appeared, and at higher mileage I had to have the EGR valve inspected. For the long-distance work it was meant for, it did exactly what I wanted. Intended as a reference, not as purchase advice.

Economical long-distance diesel, DPF demanded motorway kilometres early on · 4/5
Anonymous owner · 2026-02-25 · owner experience
For years I drove it as a long-distance car, mostly motorway, and clocked well over 220,000 km. The D4 was the strong point: on the cruise around 5.2-5.6 l/100km, and the seats were still comfortable even after a long day, which is what this Volvo stands for. I experienced the well-known age-related issue first-hand: during a period with a lot of short trips into town the DPF got clogged and the warning came back; after a deliberate motorway run and later a dealer regeneration it was resolved, but it remained something to watch out for. The 430 l boot is on the small side for an estate, which surprised me. I had no rust. I share this as a long-term owner's experience and as a historical reference, not as purchase advice.

Comfortable but the EGR valve and short trips caused problems · 3/5
Anonymous owner · 2026-04-17 · owner experience
Used as a family car, lots of city driving and short trips with the occasional long trip, for years around 18,000 km per year. On the motorway it was economical, around 5.5 l/100km, but my usage pattern with lots of short trips did not suit a diesel from this period well. The EGR valve had to be replaced after the engine warning light came on, and during city use the DPF repeatedly gave warnings until I deliberately started making longer trips. Those are the well-known age- and usage-related points, no surprise in hindsight but still a cost. What held up: the ride comfort, the quiet cabin and the pleasant seating on long trips, there is little to fault there. I describe this as a long-term owner experience and spec reference, not buying advice.

About the Volvo V60 D4 (2010-2018)
This model is no longer available as a new car. It is in the database as a historical reference: for looking up specifications and as input for the switching orientation from an older model. There is deliberately no new price and no buy button; we are not a marketplace and do not broker second-hand purchases. The introduction price (2014) is solely historical context, not a current value.
The D4 diesel from the first V60 generation stems partly from the NEDC era; the consumption value mentioned here is therefore an indicative conversion, not a WLTP measurement. The D4 came during its run both as a five-cylinder and later as a four-cylinder; specifications differ per model year. The braked towing weight of 1,800 kg and the estate body made this car sought-after at the time as a towing and long-distance car.
In practice
On long distance, owners historically report around 5.6 l/100km (owner forums, historical, n≈15, not measured by us), above the indicative NEDC conversion of 4.5. The introduction price of 39,995 euro (2014) is solely historical context; there is no current new price because the model has been out of production since 2018.
Points to note
At high mileages, DPF clogging with predominantly short trips and the EGR valve are recurring points to note in aggregated owner reports (historical, not verified by us). Diesel is under low-emission-zone restrictions in several EU cities; check the rules for your regular routes. For a possible second-hand choice, the maintenance history and the condition of DPF and EGR are the points to note. We do not broker second-hand purchases.
